Parent Fund
The Parent Fund began as a grassroots effort to support students who lose a parent to death or permanent disability while enrolled at IWU.
During a football game in 1960, a father learned about the passing of another student's father. In an act of generosity and compassion, a paper bag was passed around the stadium to collect money to help the family with the cost of college after their recent loss. So began The Parent Fund.
When a family suffers from the death or permanent disability of a parent, our Illinois Wesleyan family extends a helping hand. Since its humble beginnings, The Parent Fund has supported over 300 students with financial assistance. On average, three to four students per year are supported with an IWU Parent Grant.
Your gift to The Parent Fund will help these students return back to campus with confidence knowing they have the support of their Illinois Wesleyan family.
