Welcome to Orientation Services
The mission of the Office of Orientation Services is to support the transition process
for new students, as well as their family members. We believe that orientation programs
are the beginning of an ongoing process of creating active Titan community members.
We recognize that our community is comprised of many unique populations, whom are
supported by specific orientation services. We accomplish this mission through coordinating
several signature programs for first year and transfer students and their families.
Below is a description of the three primary programs we offer at this time.
Transfer Student Orientation is a one-day orientation specifically designed for transfer students. This program takes place in August for the fall semester, and in early January for
the spring semester. At this orientation, students have a chance to meet with an academic
advisor, register for classes, obtain their student ID card, and receive valuable
information and resources about their new university.
Experience IWU: Family Orientation offers parents, guardians, and adult support persons the opportunity to learn more
about their students' upcoming transition to college. IWU faculty, staff, and orientation
leaders welcome families to the IWU family with a day filled with meeting new people,
educational sessions, and getting a chance to experience IWU first hand. This year
we will offer important information for families virtually in June and July. More
information will be forthcoming.
Turning Titan: New Student Orientation is an exciting six day program where new IWU students get a chance to begin to build
their community on campus, meet with their First Year Advisor, register for fall 2020
classes, become acquainted with campus, meet their Titan Orientation Leaders and much
more! Attendance for first year students is mandatory.
Please note that activities are subject to change in response to state, federal, and public health
