As interim Chaplain through this 2020-2021 academic year, Monica will lead the Office
of Multifaith Engagement and work with the Multifaith Ambassador team, RSOs, Student
Affairs colleagues and many others to support the vibrant spiritual and worldview
diversity on our campus. While she has spent most of her adult life in Washington
State, she was raised right here on the Illinois prairie and came home in 2017 to
serve as the Director of Spiritual Life at Knox College. Monica's passions are serving
students in higher education by helping them integrate their identities and find their
voice. While a seminary student herself, Monica began a student ministry to students
at the Colorado School of Mines. As an associate pastor serving in Spokane, WA, she
began a ministry to students at the Intercollegiate School of Nursing. From there,
she served in Seattle with Trinity United Methodist Church, University Temple United
Methodist Church, and as the first ever chaplain in the Planned Parenthood organization.
Monica then served as the Ecumenical Campus Minister for the University of Washington. Monica earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Illinois State University,
a Master of Divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology, and a doctoral degree
from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. You may contact her at email@example.com!
